STF31 Military Assault Command Operations

Welcome to the Military Assault Command Operations (MACO), a group affiliated with Starfleet Task Force 31, The North America Star Trek Fan Club. As a member of STF31, the MACO operates as an office under the Deputy Director and reports directly to the Deputy Director.

In the fictional Star Trek universe, the MACO is a part of the Starfleet Ground Forces that work closely with the Naval Fleet of the United Federation of Planets. However, membership in the MACO does not have any special requirements except for being a member in good standing with STF31. Although the MACO has a different organizational structure and ranking system than the Naval portion of STF31, MACO Operators are regular members.

MACO Operators occasionally hold their own separate activities, which can range from paintball or laser tag to fundraising events like Toys for Tots or blood drives. These events are in addition to participating in local chapter, sector, and STF31-wide activities.

Wherever there is one MACO Operator, there is a MACO Company. MACO Operator groups take on various forms, from the usual MACO Company on an active chapter to a MACO Reserve Company on a chapter that has left STF31. There are many MACOs across STF31, and interested parties can check the MACO Unit Listings for a group near them or for the name of the MACO Group or MACO Battalion CO in their state or sector to contact for more information.

Please see the list below for MACO Groups in the MACO and the geographic area they cover.

The MACO also publishes a bi-monthly newsletter called Black Ops!, which covers news and events related to the organization.

Becoming a MACO Operator is simple, and the only requirement is being a member in good standing with Starfleet Task Force 31, The North America Star Trek Fan Club. To join STF31, visit their website and download the STF31 Membership Application. Once you have completed the form, email it back to the designated email address listed on the form.

After becoming a member of STF31, contact your ship’s MACO Company (MCO) Commander to express your interest in joining the MACO. If your ship does not have an MCO or you are unassigned, contact your state’s MACO Battalion Commander or geographical sector’s MACO Group Commander to join. There are no tests required to become a member of the STF31 MACO.
